A Day Out Dressed in En Femme Fashions

I was in seventh heaven when my order from En Femme arrived in the mail. What was a girl to do but to spend a day out and about? There were so many lovely items in one little box that I didn’t know what to wear first.

After planning my course of action (including where would be an appropriate backdrop for pictures), I plotted my course. I had received two dresses, two tops, a pair of stretchy skinny jeans, and a belted jacket, but would only have time to put together three ensembles.

Before I go in to details, what I love about the En Femme is the design. Not only are their products made in America, but they're designed for taller crossdressing men like me, with longer arms than the average woman. In most cases, when buying clothing at the local department stores, I find that the sleeves are too short, the waist line is too high, and the hips are too wide on most anything size 14 or larger. Crossdressers will encounter these length problems even when wearing plus-size women’s clothing. En Femme’s designers have taken all this into consideration and created styles anyone can be proud to wear, with fit and style as the ultimate consideration.

Going Out in my Outfits

I decided to start my day with the lovely Little Black Dress with a see-through mesh neckline and shoulders. I planned to visit the historic church and adjacent courtyard in my hometown and thought the dress would be perfect if I were a guest at a wedding or a semi-formal function. When looking in the mirror, I could see how the dress would feminize my figure even without padding. Adding the padding was only a plus. The dress fit like a glove, felt wonderful against my skin, and did just what it was intended to do—make me look pretty! I added classy 4-inch flower pumps and faux diamond and pearl accessories to complete my appearance.

My second “look” included my favorite black and white skirt, black pumps, and the En Femme Ultra Feminine Top in Black which led me to the local railroad station for pictures. The black drape neck top—with a matching lace insert just above the top of the bra line—is one of En Femme's bestsellers and I can see why. Once again, it’s made to fit men, with longer sleeves and proportioned waistline! The top is silky, soft, and made of a wrinkle-resistant fabric. It complimented my skirt perfectly and—with a wide belt added to the outfit and with small earrings—the result was perfect for a train ride to work or a day of shopping.

I saved what I dreamed would be my favorite fashion combination for last, for a visit to an exclusive outdoor mall. I hoped the Textured Lace Peplum Top and Skinny Pants would be ideal for a high-class shopping center and I was right! I received numerous compliments all day long!

The Peplum top is both feminine and contemporary. The drape neck top is designed to fit in all the right places. It’s beautifully crafted with shimmering textured lace. It also features a satin-lined body with full-length sleeves, a longer waistline, and a lower scoop-neck design in the back with an eight-inch back zipper. Buttoned waist straps add interest to each side, with looks perfect with the figure-accentuating bottom. I can pair this versatile, sporty top with pants, skirts, or jeans. I went with the stretchy jeans, large silver loop earrings, and 4-inch black heels for shopping.

The pants are made from comfortable stretch Ponte fabric and are detailed with a modern, straight leg, pockets trimmed with leather accents, and leather belt loops that make them easy to wear with your favorite belt. The inseam—made for a normal 34-35 inch pant inseam—measures 32 inches, but has a hidden one and a half inch hem, which maximizes the fit for taller girls like me who want to have my pants custom tailored to the exact height.

Ready for Next Time

What I did not have the chance to wear that special day was the Sexy Black Drape Neck Dress and the Platinum Jacket. However, I have since worn both and I love how they feel and fit.

The sexy drape neck dress has built-in chest coverage to accentuate my bust line and gathers gently below my waist for a shapely hip silhouette. The dress is perfect for any time of the year, whether it’s for after-work cocktails or an early dinner. I would recommend basic black or strappy open-toed heels depending on the forecast.

The Platinum Jacket comes in both long and short sleeves and can be worn by itself, or with a camisole or the draped-neck lace blouse mentioned earlier, as I did. The jacket is form fitting, shapes your upper body, and hugs your waist. I love the belt that accessorizes the jacket, which can also be a stylish addition to a skirt. The jacket can be worn anywhere, with either an above-the-knee skirt or with skinny jeans—and of course, with 4-inch heels.

My En Femme selections helped make my “fashion day” a fabulous experience I hope to repeat again and again. The style, fabric, and fit are perfect and I look forward to mixing and matching the new clothes with other items in my wardrobe. Obviously, I’m hooked on En Femme!
